My husband had 3 stents put in arteries a week ago. He was sent home with about seven prescriptions, but none of them were anti-biotics. He has been running a low grade fever since day two. When we called the cardiologist, he said that we should worry until his fever reached 101.5 and then we should go immediately to the ER. Has anyone else ever experienced this or know anything about it? Also, incredibly after the procedure and even with blood pressure meds, his bottom number is stayng in the 90s?

Why would someone run fever a week after having cardiac stents inserted

they do not routinely perscribe antibiotics if there is no sign of infection. a low grade temp is not a bad thing, follow what directions his doc has given you

Just with my general medical background I will give you a partial answer.

Fever is a sign of an infection. Fever is our body is way of fighting an infection. So a low fever is a GOOD thing. It is your body working as it should. A low grade fever should not be treated.
