l am 42 years old and had something called AV node re-entry.After 18 plus years of having terrible heart arrythmias, l referred myself to a physician and went to a consult not very optomistic he could fix me. He did! Wow what a change in my whole life!Just talking about it brings me to tears.l had such a bad arrythmia, l was afraid to go anywhere or do anything. As a RN,l work with heart doctors who did not encourage me to have the procedure and people made jokes about me dying on the table and told me horror stories about the procedure.l went into the cath lab with tears rolling down my face terrified out of my gord he was going to kill me on the table. In less than 1/2 hr l was fixed.l owe my entire sanity to this electrophysiologist who fixed me.He has made such a change in my life and l cannot begin to express how thankful l am he took the time to fix the problem l kept downplaying because l didnt want people to keep worrying me.l was scared.
Should l send cookies?
PS:l forgot to add, l will send the treat to the entire group of nurses, doctors, lab techs, etc.....They cured me and l am so increadibly thankful.It means more to me than l can put into words.l am just so greatful.
A month after l left the cath lab, l sent 2 dozen cookies to the cath lab department and some pumpkin bars and brownies. Before l left the hospital, they told me another guy who had the same procedure was an attorney and he was so happy they fixed him.Its life altering.
also,l was not billed for his services. He teaches the procedure and this one was on the house. l am just an ordinary person, a little on the heavy side, and l have no connections. He was just doing me a good deed and l cannot say how greatful l am. l was thinking for 18 years l had panic attacs until l took my 12 lead EKG is to the consult.He laughed and could not believe anyone would think a heart rate of 240 was panic attacs. The hospital who bills seperately sent me a huge bill which my insurance covered nicely.It was worth everything l have to stop having that arrythmia.l would be sitting reading a newspaper and my heart started beating wildly.l could be walking thru the mall and wham, my heart started going crazy.It stuck too, so l had no choice but to go to the hospital ER.l did it on Thanksgiving.
l did it while out to dinner with my friends.
l bet l have been to the ER over 20 times for this problem and the cure (Adenocard) is not funny. It stops your heart.
