He told me l need to get my good Cholesterol up and get my bad Cholesterol down and says l should take 2 grams of fish oil every day at least.He also told me to keep losing weight and go for a fasting lipid profile in a month.
How do l lower my triglycerides and get my good cholesterol up?

 

I went to the cardiologist today and lost 22 lbs since January. What is the best way to lower my triglyceride?

First of all, good for u for losing the weight!
Its not easy.
Listen to ur doctor is advice.
I knew a few patients who ate Oat Bran Muffins 2-3 times a day & it SIGNIFICANTLY lowered their triglycerides as well as the bad LDH cholesterol in a short time.
It also raises the HDH (the good one).
It was amazingly effective!
The oat bran must NOT be the processed kind.
You can make these at home, & freeze them & microwave them when u want.
Just substitute this oat bran for oatmeal in any muffin recipe.
I would suggest using Splenda or Honey instead of sugar in the recipe to keep ur weight down.
