I've had bypass, heart history etc. but can not remember ever having seen a cardiophysiologist, now l have been referred to one. What exactly in their specialty. stress test, electrocardiograms or what ? How do they differ from cardiologist or heart sugeons?

besides being a heart doctor, what does a cardiophysiologist do

These professionals r specialists dealing with the electricity of the heart - the tiny biological impulses that cause the heart muscle to contract.

They have specialized studies to track where the impulse is generated & how it tracks through the heart.

When necessary, their treatments can consist of:

1. ablation - destroying a small area that conducts or generates an impulse inappropriately.
2. Inplantable pacemakers & defibrillators
3. Medication
4. Rarely, surgical intervention.

I hope this helps. Good luck
